Pulled Pork

Using a slow-cooker, pulled pork is probably one of the most rewarding dishes to make in terms of work:result ratio…it practically makes itself, and taste so delicious!

So far I have never met anyone who does not like pulled pork (actually, everyone who has had it seems to get a special glitter in their eyes when it’s brought up for discussion…myself included!)
There is something truly comforting about it and it is a perfect example of that less often really is more…or at least enough. Depending on what you serve it with it fit any and every season of the year, and you can get really creative with the seasoning to vary it from time to time.
You definitely do not have to stuff it in a bun to make a meal out of it. Serve it with mashed sweet potatoes, oven roasted vegetables, mix it with lettuce, leafy greens and fresh vegetables to make a pulled pork salad, mix leftovers with bone broth and diced vegetables to make a soup….the possibilities are endless!
Speaking of leftovers….another good thing about this dish is that it often leave you full and satisfied, and with a few meals worth of leftovers!

There are millions of pulled pork recipes out there, and I really doubt there are many bad ones (as long as they’re Paleo compliant of course). And it also seems you can cook and pull just about any type of meat…I’ve seen pulled chicken recipes, pulled beef recipes…even pulled moose recipes, and they all look absolutely fantastic!
I’m fairly sure you’ll see other pulled meat dishes pop up here in the future too.

Today however, it is pulled pork and nothing else.
I love making my pulled pork in my slow cooker, and it is just perfect for those days when you have plans that will keep you busy all day! It is super quickly prepared and finalized, and needs no further attention so that you can get right on with your plans without having to think about dinner, and still have a delicious meal at the end of the day!

Most people have their own twist or special secret ingredient to it, and I have no idea if there is one “true” recipe…anyhow, I’m just a Swede who likes to eat and this is how I usually make mine:

    • Good idea, I gotta make one!
(In the meantime, google “coleslaw whole30” and I’m absolutely sure you’ll get a few hits) :)

    • That sounds like a great match, go for it! :)
(And let me know how it turned out.)
